An interactive forum for Kissing Bridge skiers and riders. Your thoughts and ours concerning the 2005-2006 K.B. season! K.B. Keepin' it real since 1960!
You heard it hear first... SOUTH WILL OPEN TOMORROW 1/27 ALL SOUTH TRAILS NATURAL SNOW COVERAGE, THIN SPOTS CAN BE EXPECTED OPEN DURING DAYTIME HOURS ONLY.
why are they only open during the day? im a night skier and want to have as many slopes open as possible. a.c.m. please tell me why they are only open during the day. please open them at night!!!!!
Safety my man. on natural snow we have terain variations and thin spots that are easy to avoid during daylight hours, not so much at night. Same reason that HV and BM went to only daytime operations during the January monsoons. Hope this awns. your ?
North is comng along well. As North is a snowmaking coveredarea, for the most part, we hammer the mainline slopes until the depth is enough to sustain for the season with only minor touch ups. I suspect a few of the main slopes will be open later in the weekend or certainly early next week.
About ten min. ago it just started dumping snow, huge flakes, piling up. I would guess six inches today, bt if it keps up like this the sky is the limit, perhaps this is the one we have been waiting for!
Ok now I have a bone to pick with the higher ups at KB.
Today on the front page of the web site.... Lift attendants needed?!?!?!
Last weekend all the way up to wednesday I've been skiing Kissing Bridge after work and see 5 to 8 guys just shooting the breeze when they should be checking passes or actually loading people on the lifts the right way. Took a run through the terrain park and YUP bunch of guys just standing there doing nothing when at all the other lifts there are 2 or 3 guys actually working. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.... these "kids" need to be working, thats what there getting paid to do not stand around and hold up the tissue dispenser while talking about how trashed they were the night before....
With the opening of north people will want to have all lifts available this weekend. It is very difficult to find folks for a job that starts "sometimethis winter?" deals with standing in the cold for hours and watching people ski. As we are not a year round facility we do not keep people over the off season and have few returning employees. That said I have seen more full chairs on busy days, single line set ups and smiling lifties than in the past. A few standouts have been holding down the fort at the Holly Quad late. I have seen the issues you bring up also.

any idea on when C.T.C is going to open?
I personally can't wait for North to fully open. Some of the best hills are over there. How's that lookin' ACM?
