Throwing out for consideration next season... What are your thoughts on an Alternative Terrain race series running 5 weeks with 3 night comps and 2 Saturday events. The courses would be set with short "stubby gates" and the format would include things such as an open slalom through the bumps on Twister, A modified GS through the park with an option of going over a few tables on the fast line, or riding around them, but sacrificing some time in doing so, A "super G" on woods trail, perhaps a "Gelande" jump (nordic ski jump style big air for distance). No speed suits allowed and the stubbies are snowboard friendly. A snowboard class would be key in making this work, the number of folks at the Crazy 8s comp shows some interest is out there. I can do this for next season if folks want it. Speak up and let me know your thoughts on alternative ski/board race events and the idea in broad scope.

The above link is a sad story concerning an up and coming free rider. I found it very touching and urge you all to chase your dreams, but be careful and aware of the potential consequences, having been knocked out more than a few times over the years this falls into the there but by the grace God catagory.

Things are coming together from South to North. South is 100% open today after some lift maintainence earlier in the week, Central is seeing some additional snowmaking to build a base on the main slopes that will last into the spring, North is excellent shape, snowmaking continues on Moment and World (world will be allowed to bump up once open!). Slalom Run is is perfect race shape and we should be runing GS on Moment next week for NAR. The park continues to grow with three big hits set to go. The mix of natural and manmade snow has given us a base that is darn near perfect, best snow around. Come on down and get some (SNOW)!
